Network Administrator

Job Summary:

Enterra Solutions is looking for a skilled Sr. Network Administrator, based in our Washington Operations Center (Reston, VA), to implement and manage our global vision and needs as we grow. The position is responsible for all aspects of network administration including design, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and best practices management of systems, users, security, performance optimization, and user support. Duties include but are not limited to:

Qualifications:

  • Complete Installation and maintenance of all IT infrastructure including network installation & maintenance, server installation & maintenance, and user systems configuration and maintenance. Experience with administration, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and monitoring MS Exchange Server, IIS, SQL, Windows 2000/2003 Servers etc.
  • Ensure Network integrity & security including domain management, user account management, security & access control, and network security devices configuration. Knowledge of Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems and Virtual Private Network systems
  • Provide Software integrity & security including updates management, certificates management, server and workstation configuration management, and group policy management.
  • Vendor relationship management including hardware and software suppliers, ISP management, service agreements, and management of external technical support.
  • Systems operations management of email servers, remote access servers, web servers, and application servers, experience working with VoIP systems, preferably NBX and support of development servers.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • MCSE, MCP, CCNA, MCPS, CAN Certifications a plus. Ten+ years experience as a Windows Network Engineer with good troubleshooting and project management skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience in engineering and administering IP networks.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Network Operating Systems, including Active Directory.
  • Experience using network analysis, management and performance monitoring tools to evaluate product and service behaviors.
  • Experience in IPSEC, VPN, and Wireless Network security.
  • In depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and the configuration and maintenance of routers, access points, and switches.
  • System Administrator support for Software Development Team. Experience in the administration and maintenance of UNIX/Linux as well as Windows based Servers. The candidate will provide support for Sandbox, application developers and the Quality Assurance teams. Install and configure Linux and Windows hardware, software, and associated components as well as internal application software. The position requires a self managed individual with strong technical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in disaster recovery, backup, capacity planning and system restoration.
  • Able to provide 24x7x365 support (Excellent Customer Service Focus A MUST).
  • Proven remote troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent clear, concise communication skills a MUST

  • Hardware: PCs and Compatibles, Intel Based Servers, Dell Server Hardware, RAID Hardware, Unix Servers, All Windows Workstation and Server versions, MS Exchange Server, Active Directory, UNIX, Frame Relay, Firefox/IE, TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, NDS, SMS, NetBIOS, FTP, Ethernet, Hubs, SonicWall and 3Com Routers, IBM PC-DOS, MVS, HP Openview.
  • Configure and maintain 3COM NBX/VCX Switches. Configuration includes Designing and configuring numbering, trunks, and other system features consistent with a company telephony system. Create and administer call queues and call queue routing. Provide handset feature configuration and user support using 3COM unified messaging/switch management.
  • Senior-level expertise with Microsoft SharePoint 2003/2007 and MOSS technologies including web part development, site definitions, workflow a BIG plus. (please note in application)
  • Other Software:, SAP, MS Office (all-versions) (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Project), MS Developers Studio, Adobe Acrobat,, QuickBooks Pro, VBScript, Symantec/Norton or MacAfee anti-virus for Exchange server, MOM, RPG, Visual Basic, backup s/w, Tivoli, Remedy, Oracle/Peoplesoft or ERP s/w knowledge desired.
  • Experience w/Sales Force Automation (SFA) or CRM Systems, and Accounting Software Packages a plus.
  • Due to work performed in the Federal Sector, candidate must meet eligibility requirements for Security Clearance Purposes
