Data Architect
Job Summary:
Enterra Solutions is looking for skilled Data Architects to join their Core Platform Development Team. The successful candidates will be directly involved in the development and enhancement of the company's software suite for Enterprise Resilience Management. This software suite is used by the company and its clients to transform Service Oriented Architectures (SOA's) and Process Oriented Architectures into Resilient Technology Architectures (RTA's) through the unique application of business rules, process modeling and automated code generation.
This position works closely with business representatives, IT Management, IT development and support teams to develop and maintain an enterprise data model at the conceptual, logical, and physical level with traceability to the physical level to facilitate migration to a rationalized set of data definitions. The position requires an individual to be able to make sound decisions based on information available at the time and to be able to maintain project focus.
Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum experience as a data architect
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present canonical, conceptual, and physical data models to a wider audience in a clear and concise manner with the goal of driving to a design decision
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively within a matrix, 'virtual' environment
- Technical knowledge of ERWIN
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast changing environment
- Experience in designing warehouses, ODS, OLTP, CIF
- Building canonical, logical, conceptual, and physical data models
- 3NF, Star and Snowflake designs
- Identifying corporate-wide data dictionary elements and abstracting element definitions
- Design models to comply with business semantics and support software implementation requirements
- Reverse engineering models
- Present & explain appropriate models to varied levels of stakeholders: executive committee, business users, data architects, technical teams, etc.
- Participate in technical/requirement meetings
- Enforce data standards
- Data Analysis capabilities using SQL (DB2, MS SQL Server and IBM DB2 mainframe)
- Use of CASE tools (ERWIN is a must), maintain model repository, data repository
- Generate DDLs; provide inputs to production DBAs/Tech Teams as required
- Minimum of BA or BS job related degree
